Tribute Band?
Always been fascinated by the Bowie new
talent that came along in the late 60's,
something totally different. I admire prolific
song writers, like Lennon and
McCartney, so Bowie fits in here. So many
different melodies, and off beat cadences.
I have been a fan of Mike Garson, very inventive
with the progressions.
What is your favourite David Bowie song?
Difficult I have a favourite album, Hunky Dory, from there I would choose 'Changes'.
What is your previous experience?
Took all the Royal Schools piano exams by the time I was 14, had several R&B bands at school and college. In the mid 70's had a recording contract, made a few original numbers, but it died after a year as punk came in, which dominated the small record companies. Played in several covers/function bands over the years.
What other music do you enjoy?
Beatles, U2 and Dire Straits are all up there. I also still play classical stuff when the mood takes me!
