The Thin White Duke are a 5 piece David Bowie Tribute Band playing in the South of England. Formed 6 years ago we have become a favourite on the tribute scene.
The bands typical 2 x 60 minute set lovingly recreates Bowies classics from "Heroes to Lets Dance" and everything inbetween plus a few oddities!

Well that's it for 2012 folks... Dave’s wife is expecting their second child in November and our guitarist wife is expecting twins in the next few weeks.
Somehow I think they maybe better suited to a Kiss tribute next year. You can work that out.
The band will be back bigger than ever after a short break and back in early 2013. Thanks again for all your support. We’re nothing without our bowie-ites and bowie-jets. So thanks again.
See you soon and watch the (man) gig guide start to grow for 2013
If you have any venues for us to play please send them through to the below email address.

Saturday night's gig at Central Studio in Basingstoke was an brilliant night for both us and the sell out crowd. At one point ,the heat from the dancing crowd set off the fire alarms , and we had to evacuate the building !
Thank you one and all for braving the petrol queues, and turning up to support us.
We'll be back at Central Studio soon.
31.03.12
The TWD are really fired up for the Central Studio Gig tonight in Basingstoke.
The boys are looking forward to smashing through your favorite tracks with a few
abstract ones for the die hard bowie fans. See you after you have top'd up from the petrol station. Crazy country!!
02.01.12
The Thin White Duke kicked the doors off 2012 by rocking the Railway in Bromley North last weekend. From the opening song, Jean Genie the crowd had our backs till the very end. We have made so many friends at this venue that come to see us as far away as Northampton. We really appreciate all your efforts in coming to see us play. The band really turns up the heat for this event. No glittery tribute to be found here, just the raw genie-ous of Ronson and Bowie.
08.01.12
Happy New Year to you all and we are looking forward to a busy 2012
Happy Birthday goes to Bowie himself on Sunday 8th January. What would you buy Bowie as a gift I wonder? hmmm.... Let us know your ideas?
22.12.11
Everybody from the Thin White Duke would like to thank you all for your support over the last year. It's been great playing to you all and your feedback has been overwhelming. We shall be in the studio over Christmas working on new material and employing new tech that will bring our recreations closer to Bowie’s originals. We’re really excited about it. We would finally like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and see you in the New Year.

The band has had a busy summer. We headed up to Manchester and Leeds in our northern tour to play a kicking pub (hark 2 Towler) and a wedding reception the following day. We thoroughly enjoyed the northern hospitality and kindness.
We recently played in Lewes at the Con club to a packed crowd of new punters.
At a favourite venue of ours (The Railway) in Bromley we learnt that people had travelled down from Northampton. I forget your names but I remember you both singing your hearts out down the front. xx
Thanks so much for coming to see us and I hope you had a great Birthday,
See you all soon I hope.
31.07.11

We are totally staggered by the fantastic feedback we have received from the Windlesham gig.
On behalf of the entire band we really enjoyed playing the venue and the fantastic audience in attendance.
Manager Bob Hope from the Windlesham theatre has assured us that we are the Bowie tribute of choice from the comments he received by you on the night. So many thanks to you all. Plans to return are already in motion for 2011. With your help we have achieved our objectives to become the No. 1 Bowie tribute to play the Windlesham theatre.
The band has opened talks for the future songs inclusion for 2011. It only seems fair to add some of the songs you have mentioned to our growing set. So you will just have to come along next year to see if your favourites have really made the grade……
11.08.10

Thin White Duke return to South Street on the 10th July following the massive success of their sell-out show in 2009. Taking their name and look from the Thin White Duke character created by David Bowie for his legendary 1976 Station To Station tour, the band delivers a powerhouse of a show that contains hits and classic album tracks from Space Oddity to Let's Dance and everything in between. This is a "must see" for Bowie fans looking for an authentic tribute to one of UK music's most innovative and enduring acts.

Firstly the band would like to welcome our guitarists newly born son, Oliver to the world. Mum and Dad think he rocks!
Continuing on the rocking theme, The Thin White Dukes have been locked away in their studio and have almost completed mixing 12 new classic tracks for your approval. We shall keep you informed when the final layer of polish has been applied. Our aim was to see how close we could get to the originals using our live setup without any tricks or sampling. (We believe that to be cheating) We all hope that you will like them enough to come and hear them played live. Bowie Rocks - Simples!
Next Gig,
Thanks for all your support over our recent gigs. We are continually amazed and amused with your encounters of the man himself. The latest was from the daughter of a car dealership owner in Bromley who sold Bowie a banger back in the late 60's! I replied that he was always crashing the same car! Which was met with a blank look!
The TWD are having a small break till Novemember whilst our guitarist goes off to have his first baby.
We shall see you next at The Railway in Bromley - North on the 28th Nov.

10.02.09 Gig Review.
The Portland Rock Bar, Hove.
It seems that the people of Hove have cottoned on to the great bands that are frequenting the Portland these days. By the time our guitarist struck his first chord the venue was full to capacity. Approximately 200 people kept the bar staff and dance floor busy all night. Our new singer Dave was nothing short of genius and did the Band and Bowie himself proud. We'd like to thank all that came down to support us and hope we shall see you again when we come back on the 11th July.
Photos of the Portlands gig can be found under our new recent gigs page
